Frederic mistral rose: Meeting of the Félibrige in Frédéric Mistral, Joseph Roumanille, Théodore Aubanel, Jean Brunet, Paul Giéra, Anselme Mathieu, Alphonse Tavan The Félibrige (French pronunciation:; Lo Felibritge in classical Occitan, Lou Felibrige in Mistralian spelling, pronounced [lu feliˈβɾidʒe]) is a literary and cultural association founded in by Frédéric Mistral and other Provençal.
In Mistral wrote another of his best-known works, Calendau Calendal in French , the story of an anchovy fisherman who becomes a legendary hero and performs amazing feats in his quest all over Provence to marry a fairy named Esterello. Part of Calendal's journey took him to the Gorges de la Nesque , which Mistral himself also explored.
A little memorial to him has been erected there. You can see a modern statue of Calendal, pictured , in Cassis , where the poem is set. It too is available in English.

She travels to Avignon to seek the aid of the Pope, allowing Mistral to delve into the historical events of the Great Schism , in which the Christian lands of Europe were divided into the domains of two rival Popes. Is it not amply found in a poet whose work, like that of Mistral, is distinguished by a healthy and flourishing artistic idealism; in a man who has devoted his entire life to an ideal, the restoration and development of the spiritual interests of his native country, its language and its literature?
